Oddly, a speed-metal fanatic turned me onto Belly with their first album, “Star.”

I’m listening to it for the first time in years.

Still good, one of the high points of that alternative thing.

And fun fun lyrics; the lyrics alone had me sold from the get-go.

I pretty much guarantee this album to any fan of indie music.

Not instantly gratifying; better every time I hear it.

Favorite track: “Favorite American.”

I saw them play once; it was a good time.
